Only a few hours after the opening ceremony there started the serious part for the first four NÖVSV sportsmen. The 30th of august can be seen as a successful start for the first competitions.
Sabine Weber-Treiber started with the 100m backstroke in the 6S-class. With a time of 1.50,25 the qualification for the final was out of sight, however this day was only for warming up for the following competitions.
Andy Onea fulfilled the requirements of his trainer Dr. Alexander Keck and swan the 100m butterfly stroke within 1.09,43. A qualification for the final wasn´t expected but as another Austrian Record he proofs that he is in good shape. This competition was not only important as a warming up but also to get used to the atmosphere of a completely filled stadium with more than a thousand excited fans.
Our both table tennis-aces Doris Mader and defending champion Andi Vevera already know what a thrilled audience means. We fondly remember the pictures when the Olympic champion Andy nearly drowned in the human grape around him. The celebrated star starts as expected and beat his rival Andrea Borgata (Italy) with a 3:0 victory.
In the same impressive way Doris Mader won 3:0 against Wararitdarongkul from Thailand.
In our opinion it could go on like this.
In the next few days we will give you background-information on our sportsmen.
